ESC 2010 - Lena's Gewinn - Thank You Card

ich gebe es zu, ich bin wirklich etwas verrückt, wenn es um den ESC geht. Da ich den ESC ja jetzt seit mittlerweile 25 Jahren (ohne ein Jahr auszulassen) im Fernsehen ansehe und Deutschland nur in sehr wenigen Fällen mal einen Top 10 Platz schaffte, kenne ich das Gefühl gar nicht, wie toll das ist, wenn man mal viele Punkte bekommt und dann auch noch den ESC gewinnt. 


I admit, I'm really crazy when it comes to the ESC. Since I watch the ESC for 25 years on television (without skipping a single a year) and Germany only in very few cases managed to take a place in the top 10, I couldn't imagine the feeling how it is, if you get lots of points and then also win the ESC!

Ich habe mit einer guten Platzierung gerechnet, aber dass Lena gewinnt: Wahnsinn! :-)))
Daher ein großes "Dankeschön" an alle, die für Deutschland gevotet haben.

Nachdem mein ESC Jahr eher schlecht begonnen hat: Ich hatte mir diese Woche Urlaub genommen, um nach Oslo zu fahren und den ESC vor Ort zu sehen. Nachdem sich aber herausstellte, das Hotels und Tickets für das Finale am Samstag nicht mehr zu bekommen sind (zumindest nicht für das Geld, was ich bezahlen kann), habe ich zu Hause geschaut. Und siehe da: Nächstes Jahr sehen wir uns in Deutschland! Ja, da weiß ich ja schon in welcher Woche ich 2011 Urlaub nehmen werde! :-)

Since my ESC year started rather badly: I some free days this week to go to Oslo and see the ESC live. When it later turned out, that getting hotels and tickets for the final (at least not for the money that I can pay) is almost impossible. And now: Next year we will have the ESC in Germany! Yes, I already know which week I will take vacation in 2011! :-)


Da ich so begeistert war (und um meine Kopfschmerzen nach einer Flasche Sekt gestern Nacht zu vergessen) habe ich gleich eine "Thank You"-Karte gebastelt. Diese Karte ist wohlgemerkt nicht nur eine "Lena"-Karte, sondern wird noch an jemanden besonderen als "Dankeschön" verschickt. An wen wird erst später verraten.

Since I was so excited (and to forget my headache resulting from a bottle of sparkling wine last night) I made a "Thank You" card. This Card is, of course not just a "Lena" card, but is for someone special as a "thank you". I will post about it later.

Eurovision Song Contest 2010 - printable ballot & predictions - Starterliste

was für ein schöner Tag. Die Sonne scheint draußen und heute abend gibt es das Finale des Eurovision Song Contests!

Da ich im Internet nirgendwo eine ausdruckbare Teilnehmerliste finden konnte, habe ich mir selbst eine erstellt. Für alle Interessierten hier als jpg-Datei.

It's a really nice day. The sun is shining outside and this evening there is the final of the Eurovision Song Contest!

Since I couldn't find a printable participants list on the Internet , I've created my own. For all interested people here as a jpg file.

Wenn ihr euch einen Titel auf YouTube ansehen wollt, reicht meistens die Eingabe "ESC 2010" mit dem Landesnamen.

If you like to watch you a song on YouTube, usually the entry "ESC 2010" with the country name is enough.

Zuerst meine persönlichen Favoriten aus den beiden Halbfinalen. Diese sind (in alphabetischer Reihenfolge):

• Belgium: ein Sänger mit Gitarre und ein sehr ruhiger Titel
• Georgia: eine Sängerin mit Musical-Erfahrung, was man der perfekten Bühndarbietung deutlich ansieht.
• Israel: eine wunderschöne Ballade auf hebräisch - ich verstehe also kein Wort, aber klingt super! ;-)
• und Sweden: Ich liebe diesen wundervollen Titel einer jungen Sängerin, die leider nicht ins Finale weitergekommen ist. :-(

Wie es aussieht, wird also einer der drei oberen meine Stimme bekommen. Mir fällt auf, dass irgendwie alle in die Balladenkategorie passen...

First, my personal favorites from the two semi-finals. These are (in alphabetical order):

• Belgium: a singer with a guitar and a unplugged song
• Georgia: the female singer is a former musical-performer which is pretty obvious when you see the perfectly choreographed performance  
• Israel: a beautiful ballad in Hebrew - I understand not a single word, but it sounds great! ;-)
• Sweden: I love this beautiful song, by a young female singer, which unfortunately didn't make the final

It looks like one of the first three will be getting my voice. It occurs to me that somehow all fit into the ballad category ...


Und jetzt meine endgültigen Tipps vor dem Finale, wer es in die Top 5 schafft
Leider habe ich die Beiträge von Deutschland, Großbritannien, Frankreich, Spanien und Norwegen noch nicht live auf der ESC-Bühne gesehen, da diese ja nicht im Halbfinale waren.

1. Georgien
2. Türkei
3. Israel
4. Aserbaidjan
5. Deutschland 

• Alternativen: Belgien (6), Serbien (7)

And now my predictions before the final, who makes the Top 5

Sorry, I haven't  seen the participants from Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain and Norway on the ESC stage live yet as they didn't need to take part in the semi-finals, so it's hard to judge these.

1. Georgia (the performance was just perfect in the semifinal and it's a lovely song)
2. Turkey (sounds a bit like Linkin 'Park to me and it different from all other participants which is usually a lot of points good for)
3. Israel (I personally love this song, but I am not sure if others share this opinion)
4. Azerbaijan (I know this song is leading the odds, but it's not one of my personal favourites, but I think many will vote for it)
5. Germany (I love the song and the performer, since I've heard it many times before, but I'm not sure if people will like it immediately when hearing it for the first time)

Alternatives: Belgium (6 - yes, that is wishful thinking - i'm so in love with this song), Serbia (7 - the more often I hear this song the better it gets (which is quite a problem if you only hear it once) - cannot stop moving my feet hearing it - but the hairdo and look of the singer is pretty different from the usual which might stop some people from voting for it)
